well hello our fellow blobbers!  We have had our first two days in Bangkok.  They have been very eventful days (which is our excuse for not writing earlier, hahaha) ...so eventful in fact that after much sightseeing and walking around yesterday we returned to our lovely little Asha Guesthouse and laid down for what we hoped would be a short nap at 6:30 pm....we woke at 12:30am and decided that it had passed the point of nap and we should just sleep for the rest of the night.  Basically what we're saying is that Bangkok is great and all, but is very tiring at the end of the day.

It seems like we've done so much in the few days we've been here and it is hard to keep track of everything...we'll try to backtrack as best we can... keeping it simple of course.
We arrived in Bangkok safely! afrer a great flight with Cathay Pacific (or as Thomas calls it, Cathay Specific...because they are so friendly and get you anything you need including lots of food and movies) we went straight to Asha Guesthouse with a taxi at 2am.  Asha is great.  the people are friendly and it is very clean and simple.  Our first morning in Bangkok: Michelle can't sleep and wakes up at 6:30 eagerly waiting to go down for breakfast.  after waiting as long as she can she wakes tired and sleeping Thomas to go down for breakfast at 7:30. ...the fresh fruit was AMAZING!!!  We venture out for our first morning into the very overwhelming Bangkok. After meeting another friendly traveller we journey the rest of the day together to Wat Pho...wat of calmness and happiness.  TO describe would be very challenging, all we can really say is it was amazingly incredible.  and so interesting.  we went to more wats today and the coolest part is that they are active places of worship... anyways, we will try and post some photos for all of you dear blobbanites, and we hope to read some of you comments! GOODBYE!

  1. Hey Thomas and Michelle,
I have been enjoying visiting your blog. Your pictures and comments are very interesting. What an amazing part of the world . . . so different from where we come from. Your students seem to love you. You must be doing a great job of relating to them.
I finally had to phone your mom to find out exactly how to comment on your blog. I tried a few times unsuccessfully. I hope I got it and this one actually gets to you.
    Take care,
    Janet
